Carbon injection

HTT carbon injectors are focused on improving efficiency and safety. Injectors are typically located in the lower shell near the level of liquid steel. The proprietary design of the injector includes a prefabricated high-quality refractory block to be bricked in the last course of refractory rows, so the tip of the injector is very near to liquid steel. As a result, injected carbon particles are always introduced under the slag layer, which significantly increases efficiency. Typical saving of carbon consumption in comparison to upper shell located injectors exceeds 15%. The injector is designed such that it does not require any water cooling which improves operation safety.
